The Publishers Little Brown has confirmed that copies of the Barry book written by Nick Harris and Steve Parrish are still selling well. Copies in both paperback and hardback sold well up to Christmas and the trend continued in January. The book was published in hardback, paperback and trade paperback. In addition it was published as a talking book and with a special cover into the vibrant Australian market.
Barry was first published in August 2007.
Hi Nick,
Just came across your website. I bought yours and Steve P’s Barry book early on and I reckon it’s the most honest of all the books written about BS so far. All too often the myths about Barry have been repeated, regurgitated and swallowed again by a hungry fan-base. There’s so little original research done these days. First hand opinion and anecdotes are crucial in my opinion and your book has both. It had me in stitches at times.
I don’t think we’ve met but well done.
By the way, I first saw Oxford United play when Bud Houghton was captain – er – must’ve been 1962? I was at Southfield School in those happy days. The most memorable thing about the match was a guy in the stands just below me. he was ringing a largish hand bell. The clanger came off and flew into the crowd and hit another chap hard on the head. Brilliant.
Cheers
Ray
PS. I’m not a football fan.
