In a time of economic depression, fuel strikes and some typical British summer weather to attract a crowd of over 134,000 for the British Grand Prix was a tremendous endorsement to everybody at Donington Park.

The success of this campaign was not only reflected in the attendance but by the enormous media coverage at all levels before, during and after the event.

With Donington’s practical and financial help we achieved far more column inches and air time than any other Motor Sport event in Britain with the exception of the Formula One Grand Prix.
