Nick Harris
Nick has been a respected journalist, broadcaster and author for the last 35 years but is probably best known as a television and radio commentator and presenter. Last year he presented and commentated on the 18 round MotoGP World Championship to countries throughout the World including Great Britain (BBC), Far East (Star ESPN), Australia (Fox), North America (Speedvision) and Africa (Mnet). He also provided coverage with reports and features from every round for BBC World Service and a host of local radio stations. Nick also commentates on football during the winter for the BBC and has completed voice overs for companies such as Duke Marketing and Castrol...
Nick hosts many international press conferences, launches and tributes. He hosts all the press conferences during a MotoGP weekend for Dorna. Nick has hosted many team launches in locations throughout the world including China and also spoken at the Honda Dealer convention.
Last year the Barry Sheene biography written by Nick Harris and Steve Parrish was published and was featured in the Sunday Times best sellers list. The book has also been published in paperback form. Nick has also written the ultimate history of the TT races and the Freddie Spencer biography.
He has also produced guides to Formula One, MotoGP and Superbikes plus being a contributor to many prestigious magazines including International Newsweek. He joined Motor Cycle News from the Oxford Journal in 1975 and after becoming News Editor joined Motor Cycle Weekly in 1979. He set up Nick Harris Media Communications four years later.
His great passion is Oxford United Football Club and he was on the board of Directors for six years between 1994 – 1999.
Claire Sobas
Claire has enjoyed a career in motorsport spanning 20 years and in that time has worked both on the organisational and the PR and marketing sides. She has worked with several major companies such as Vauxhall, Haymarket Publishing, McLaren Mercedes and Rover.
Following her first appointment at the British Racing Drivers Club where she co-ordinated the Esso Metro Challenge and ran the Race Office for major events Claire moved to JBA to work on the Vauxhall Motorsport Account. She was promoted to the Account Manager after two years.
Claire then helped to establish the McLaren Mercedes Champions of the Future Karting Championship which proved extremely successful in bringing karting into the public eye, with the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Gary Paffett and Paul di Resta benefiting from the series. Following a break to look after her two children Claire was contracted to assist with the PR and media of the Autosport International Show in 2001. After returning from living in Germany she began working with NHMC on a part time basis and since 2008 has become a full-time member of staff.
